The winner and 4 favourites. Flower in Colour Competition.
Hi Beautiful People
Thanks for all your creative efforts again this month. We received some true beauties in pastel, water soluble pastels, and colouring pencils.
As usual, you can see all the entires via the Sketchout Facebook Page if you would like to.
This Month’s winner is Sarah Branch for the beautiful effort below.
By Sarah Branch
I love the colour palette in this piece, the slightly muted pinks and the dark greens of the leaves compliment each other beautifully. This piece feels fresh and bold and the symmetrical composition is simple and striking. I also love the tiles in the back ground, they give the piece a contemporary feel.
Below are my other Favourites
By Krystyna Menashe
I love how this piece is both very realistic and slightly naive. There is something charming and energetic about the uprightness of the flowers and the carefully drawn red stripes of the table cloth.
By Jo Melhuish
I love the wildly patterned background of this piece, it’s fun and feels slightly retro and fashiony. I like the way the pattern reflects the stamens of the flowers themselves. Also, the lillies and glass vase are also beautifully drawn, I love the subtle greys of the petals.
By Diane Cox
I love the simplicity and romance of this piece. There is something intimate and sentimental about it. It’s a beautiful study of a rose and it reminds me of a painting of a rose that my grandmother did at her painting class in Leicestershire. She was very proud of it and I think Diane should be very proud of this too.
By Ritva Georgiades
I love the feeling of light and coolness in this piece. The rich ultramarine background is a pleasure and I love cool blue shadows on the cloth. Its subtle and bold at the same time.
Thanks again to all those who entered.
The next competition will be announced very soon xxx
